Hammerheart Brewing's Fifth Anniversary

This past weekend, Hammerheart Brewing in Lino Lakes (on the north end of the Twin Cities) celebrated their fifth anniversary. We've been to this brewery a few times, because the ambience is something that appeals to Will a lot. They play a lot of metal music in their taproom, and their decor is very Norse related.

The atmosphere for the anniversary was a combination of a Norse Mythology festival and a metal concert. On one side, you saw merchants selling things from drinking horns to Vikings shields to jewelry to set the Norse mood. You would have had no problem buying a Mjolnir necklace to wear around your neck. And they also had someone using a forge. On the other side, you saw people in shirts from bands like Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, and Skeletonwitch (all who Will has seen perform in concert).

It was busier that day than we have ever seen it there. There was little wait outside to get one of the three beer they had on tap outside, but there were long lines inside to get one of their rotating anniversary beers. We did not partake in those, but we did have a triple IPA outside named Vakyrie Tears that was really good, but at 13% ABV, was super potent.

We really enjoyed spending time at Hammerheart's fifth anniversary, and we can't wait for our next trip back. Skal!
