Lupulin Hooey

Location drank: Home

We recently came across this at a beer tasting in the city we live in. Sometimes, samples don't always do a beer justice. We've sampled some a particular beer at a liquor store before, and it tasted great. Then, we go buy a four pack, and it didn't taste as good as we remember it. We decided we needed to get cans of this just to be sure. Two days later, we came home from the liquor store with a four pack.

Hooey America IPA 6.2% ABV 60 IBU

Hooey is brewed by Lupulin Brewing Company, located in Big Lake, Minnesota, northwest of the Twin Cities. It is a hoppy, hazy American IPA, with some citrus and pineapple notes.

The Verdict:

Sami: It was just ok. It was good, not great. It's not one of the first beers I'd buy. I can't really pinpoint as to why I didn't like it, but it just wasn't that good to me. It looked good coming out of the can, which I do like the design of though.

Will: The only thing we agree on here is the can design. I like it as well. The first sip, and all subsequent sips, were amazing. It didn't taste too hoppy to me. This is one of the best beers I've drank this year.
